WHAT WE COLLECT WHEN YOU RSVP, WHY, WHERE IT LIVES AND HOW TO GET IT DELETED. PLAIN LANGUAGE, NO TRICKS.

EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 6, 2026

01WHO WE ARE

WEAREÜAND ("we", "us") runs social events in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and operates www.weareuand.com. This policy explains how we handle personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (BC PIPA).

Questions or requests: partners@weareuand.com.

02WHAT WE COLLECT

When you RSVP or sign up for updates we collect your full name, phone number and email address. That is all the form asks for and all we store about you.

Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. If we use website analytics it is basic, aggregated page-view data; we do not build profiles of individual visitors and we do not use advertising trackers.

03WHY WE USE IT

  • To confirm your RSVP and send you your boarding-pass email for the event.
  • To put your name on the door list so you can be checked in at the venue.
  • To tell you about upcoming WEAREÜAND events, usually one email the week of an event.
  • To reply when you contact us.

We rely on your consent, which you give when you submit the RSVP form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in our emails.

04WE DO NOT SELL YOUR DATA

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share the door list with the venue's door staff for the night of the event only, and we share data with the service providers below so the site and emails work. Nobody else gets it unless the law requires it.

05WHERE IT IS STORED

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Convex (database) stores RSVP records.
  • Amazon Web Services, Simple Email Service (SES) sends our emails.
  • Vercel hosts the website.

These providers may store data on servers in the United States. By submitting the form you consent to that transfer. Each provider is contractually bound to protect the data and use it only to provide the service.

06HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We keep your RSVP details while you remain on our list so we can invite you to future events. If you ask to be removed, we delete your record within 30 days. Door lists are deleted after the event. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short rolling period.

07YOUR RIGHTS

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email partners@weareuand.com from the address you signed up with and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

08MINORS

Our events are 19+ and this site is not aimed at anyone under 19. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted the form, email us and we will delete the record.

09SECURITY

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with providers that use industry-standard security. Access to RSVP records is limited to team members who need it to run events. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach affecting you we will tell you as required by law.

10CHANGES

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in our next email. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
